Frequently Asked Questions
Audio isn't playing
First, check that your device is not on silent mode. On iPhone, flip the mute switch on the side of your device. On Android, make sure your media volume is turned up (use the volume buttons while a meditation is playing). If audio still won't play:
- Close the app fully and reopen it
- Check that your volume is turned up
- If using Bluetooth headphones, make sure they are properly connected
- Restart your device if the issue persists
A meditation won't load
Some newer meditations are streamed from the cloud rather than stored in the app. Make sure you have an active internet connection when playing these. Once a track has been played once, it is cached on your device and will play without internet going forward.
The Daily Insight didn't load
Daily insights in the Learn tab require an internet connection to generate. If you see an error, try tapping "Try Again." If the problem persists, check your connection and try again later. Each category generates a new insight once per day — up to 3 manual refreshes are allowed daily.
My journal entries disappeared
Journal entries are stored locally on your device. They are not backed up to iCloud, Google Drive, or any server. If you deleted and reinstalled the app, your entries cannot be recovered. We recommend keeping important reflections in a separate notes app as well.
How do I set a daily reminder?
Go to Settings → Reminders → Set Daily Reminder. Choose your preferred time and tap "Save Reminder." You may need to allow notification permissions when prompted. To change the time, simply go back to the same setting and choose a new time.
How do I enable health logging?
Go to Settings → Health → Log Mindful Minutes and turn on the toggle. On iOS, you'll be prompted to grant HealthKit permission and sessions are saved to the Apple Health app. On Android, sessions are saved to Health Connect. Once enabled, completed meditation sessions are automatically recorded as mindful minutes.
How do I cancel a reminder?
To stop receiving reminders, go to your device's notification settings. On iPhone: Settings → Notifications → The Secret Place. On Android: Settings → Apps → The Secret Place → Notifications.
Will new meditations be added?
Yes — new meditations are added regularly by Cassia, the meditation writer and musician behind the app's content. They appear automatically in the app without requiring an update. Check back often — Cassia adds new sessions across the library.
